 Artist Statment

In my work I talk about the public political self and the private personal self. There can never be a real separation between the two. The public political and private personal come together to inform what I create and how people perceive my creations. There are always undertones of these elements in the work. However I feel free to use the elements of art to talk about my relation to the inner and outer struggles of existence. I give reverence to my artists voice and what it contributes to the overall conversation. My work has been based around topics of identity and politics. I want to make work that can effect change. This drives my content in the direction that it flows. The work is an examination and response to the relation ship of identity politics and world around it.
